great news and a good report for the changes in our cod2 server! We are ranked #97th in the world! We used to be something in like the 150th or so before new maps so lets keep up the great work!!!

This is good to see. We need to keep the ball rolling on what people like to play when they join and target a wider audience.

To that end, I think we should ditch Matmata in the rotation. It's one of the most spawn camped maps in the game and it frustrated a lot of people today. I ended the game 174-49 from camping spawns with a rifle. I know I pissed a lot of people right off the server with my play.

Maybe we should try substituting it with Leningrad. It's a small map with an equal balance of good spray and good rifle areas. One of the best stock CTF maps just for it's large number of hiding places and tight quarters.

Agreed tater...and no lets do Stalingrad or the other Russian Map...Moscow and also the other one El Alamein i think it is? but yeah those maps would be amazing!!!!! Very Happy

I don't think Moscow would be any good at all. All it s is a big rifle spawn camp. We played Leningrad yesterday and it turned out very well. Stalingrad is the same thing.

Our server thrives on small maps that people can spawn and get right into the action. That's why Burgundy draws the biggest crowd right now. Leningrad had 25 people in server yesterday because of the same thing. It's small and offers places for those of less skill to hide and get ambush kills.

The key to any server is making players with less skill feel welcome in the environment. I imagine a camper feels very happy when he kills someone that bumbles into his/her trap. That offsets the feeling they get when they're getting pounded in a spawn. We can't play maps that take that away from them otherwise they wont play at all. Rostov is an okay map for that and maybe even Stalingrad, but not Moscow.

I think for experiments purpose, we should remove Toujane and replace it with Leningrad as well as add another small map of our choosing. Of course we need to figure out how we want to play these maps (CTF-TDM).

Here's what I think should be done:

Ctan - TDM
Burgundy - CTF
Lenningrad - TDM
Matmata - TDM
Ctan - CTF
Burgundy - TDM
Lenningrad - CTF
Matmata - CTF


And then repeat. Others are free to substitute any small map in that rotation of their choosing. I'm not sure if this is even possible, but you guys get the idea.

And the CTF config needs to be fixed with a 5-7 second spawn delay. It has almost no spawn delay as of right now making it almost impossible to play CTF the way its supposed to be.
