Hello EC Gaming and friends,
I am a casual BF 4 player and I am pretty sure I came across your server recently by a search of "Chicago" in my filter to see what the ping times were. Yes I am from the Chicago area, born and raised.
I will tell you what really impressed me, the fact that you guys ban your hackers/cheaters from the server and actively police it. Love it. It reminded me of a clan I joined in BF2142 (still the greatest BF next to 1942) that did the same thing. It really fosters a good community. I play to enjoy and winning helps with that, but I will be honest and say I don't mind losing nearly as much if I am in with a fun group of players in the chat.
A little about me? Not much really. I have an active and busy life outside of gaming. I work in a pretty intense field as counselor. I am a certified counselor in the state of Illinois and am currently in a Masters program pursuing my LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and will be pursuing a PhD in Psychology and Mental Health. I work for a local county circuit court as a treatment provider.
I go by DireHavoc on origin so if you see me pop in feel free to say Hi. At the next convenient moment I will join your teamspeak and chat it up.

I got involved with EC in a 'sort of' similar way...
I was looking for a decent server to play COD2 on after-office hours (I was doing stressful deadline work, where I often had to stay at the office, sometime beyond midnight, all on my own, so I needed to find a good CoD server to keep me sane through the lonely dark hours). I just couldn't find any servers in Europe that were not full of hackers (I'm from the north east of England).
So one dark evening, as I talked to myself for the thousandth night alone in a dark corridor by the water cooler, I decided to try to connect to some American servers...
So I did a random click on something with a 200-ping. Then something very surprising happened. I saw the phrase "Had away and shite" on screen. "That's a local expression" I exasperated to myself! So I got chatting to the admin who had said it (MadFecker). It turned out that he was English too, and from the same place as me (Small world, eh?), plus he's a foul mouthed sweary cunt, just like me! I had randomly found the perfect server AND the perfect Limey-friendly clan!
Long story short: I couldn't find a decent local server (Europe), so I looked abroad (America), ended up finding an American one that was being very well policed by a local chap! Happy days. :)
I get much worse ping to Chicago than any Euro-server, but the people are great, and EC stomps on hackers, which for me is more important than my personal kill/death ratio when I just want to unwind and have some fun with a game.

It is funny you mention that Nickenstein. The old BF2142 Clan I was mentioning were English and Welsh. I'm sure there is a cultural difference that I am not aware of. They were clear on the issue though. They also had half their leaders in the UK and half in the US. So I got to game with the cousins across the pond all the time. Good times. Good thing midnight for you guys is early evening for us, all those late nights at the office and we were just finishing up dinner. Or something like that, I don't remember the actual TZ difference.

Welcome to the forums, DireHavoc. Nick here plays BF4 from time to time, so you might see him in game along with a couple other members. Just be careful around him, he might try to seduce you with his voice, as he did to me.
P.S. The TZ difference is 6 hours

Howdy Dire, glad you're enjoying the server! I actively police the server every day. Any time I can get to the computer to check on the logs real quick, I do. Sometimes it takes some time for people to get booted from the server due to the way we have to ban people, but it gets the job done. At this time, I unfortunately haven't been able to play anything much. I've been house hunting and we will be making our final decision this weekend hopefully. Then, after we close and get moved, I will have all the time in the world to sit down and play! Hope to see you around soon. :)
P.S. If you notice anyone being down right offensive or possibly cheating, just use this command "@calladmin playernamehere what they were doing wrong" (without the quotes, of course). It will send me and Tater an email so we can check whats going on a lot quicker.

I'm Tater. SubatomicPotato in game. Been playing a lot of different things lately. Haven't gotten back around to BF4 yet, though I'm sure Nite and I will be back into it.
Also, I'm glad you enjoy the server as well. We've tried many different formula with the maps and gametypes but I think we've hit something good and stable. Here's to hoping it sticks around for a good long while.
