Coming out January 27 on Steam

I've played it on PS3. It is amazing. Did not try out much online, because no one to play with but it can only be better.

This is an old trailer. There's new vehicles, weapons, updated graphics, first person mode, etc. Looks like the player cap is now 30 for a server. Unsure if we can host our own.

I lost all interest in the GTA games when I got wise to the Saint's Row games.

I've not played Saint's Row 1 or 2, but 3 & 4 are FUCKING SUBLIME! They are parodies of GTA (and many other things), and they are genuinely the funniest and most entertaining single-player games I have ever played.

The only game I really REALLY want RockStar to bring to PC is Red Dead Redemption. I've been dying to play RDR for frigging years now!

It's the _only_ wild west game (one of my very fave movie genres) and to this day you still can't get it for PC! :'(

I've played S.R. 4 also. I love it. my charachter in there is a chunky woman, with big knockers and either a juggalo face paint or a black eye with a chipmunk voice. heh

I guess this topic can be brought up again, since it releases in a month. I've already pre-ordered. Heists and Adversary modes are going to be amazing imo. I bought it for ps4, but due to lack of friends, heists are pretty much a no go unless I find some good randoms<--- good luck with that lol. I love SR4, but no big groups and it's all single player co-op. I may be a bit biased, I've always preferred GTA's to Saints Rows. I've Played all Saints Rows and GTAs. Enjoy both, but GTA for me has more longevity. Once single player is over for SR, it's pretty much just collecting stuff. GTA has had a multiplayer following, on pc anyway, since San Andreas? Those days were hella fun, even tho it was kinda glitchy, because, mods am I right? Anywho, back on topic, why do I always go off on tangents?

To those of you that are going to be getting it, for 100% sure, I'd go ahead and pre-order, b4 Mar. 31st if possible:

"Pre-purchase and get $1,200,000 in-game ($500,000 for Grand Theft Auto V and $700,000 for Grand Theft Auto Online).

Having money in-game to start off with will make it a little more enjoyable right off the bat. Not necessary to have fun, but if you plan on doing heists, someone is going to need an apartment with a planning room in it and the cheapest one to buy is, I think, $200,000. That'll give you another 800,000 for weapons, vehicles, clothes, tattoos, stripp....I mean..snacks.

Just figured I'd give a heads up in-case someone didn't know about the pre-order deal goin on.

It's certainly a pretty game. Nite has his capped at 60, but I don't It's a very smooth pretty as well, not the jerky crap a lot of modern games give you with 30 fps.

I was gifted this for my birthday, so with much trepidation I installed all 90 billionty-trillion terrabytes of it and gave it a go...

It's pretty damn terrific! Probably the best game ever made to date. Very Happy

Some of the online races are as much fun as Burnout-Paradise was back in the day, and the team deathmatches are great too. (Also the single player story mode is a HUGE game.)

Pub or private. You cannot set up a server per se, but you can join a regular-pub game (up to 30) or make an friends/invite only game. You start out in the open world, which is the same as single player. It is pretty large. You earn money for doing missions or just playing in general. You then spend the money on guns, armor, cars, car upgrades, apartments, etc. Most of the missions are up to 4 players, but there are some 6 player ones. There is also deathmatch/team deathmatch/other modes up to 30 (I believe - maybe 24) players. I have had little to no issues with lag. There is voice and text chat in-game.

You should be able to run it on a variety of machines. Sin is still using a 560Ti. Although it is on lower settings, it still runs fine for him. I'm running it maxed out at 1200p. I'm not sure what your hardware is, but if it was purchased in the last 3-4 years, you should be okay. It will just dictate what the game looks like. It is one of the best PC to console ports to date, in my opinion. If you want a rough idea on how it will perform, check this video:

Indeed.

That's one of the reasons I think it's such a well made port. The fact that it runs at all is a welcome surprise for a modern game.

For instance, If I go to "Can you run it?" and check The Witcher 3 for example, it simply says "HA! No fucking chance matey!".

Sundays are out for me unless it's late. I'm almost always working Sundays. Gimp, we'll get you set up so you don't suck too much.

I will say that even when it's just me and Nitemare it's pretty damn fun. Today we were doing a heist and instead of driving straight to the finish, we were getting up as much speed as possible and ramming into the enemies we faced. I tried to do a burnout on top of live baddies but it was tough. Good times.

Yeah, Gimp, what will basically happen is you will go on missions and jobs and stuff with us and from that you will earn money. Pretty soon you will have enough money to buy an apartment with a garage. And once you have an apartment, you can start organising your own heist jobs where you are the leader. You can also start collecting cars to upgrade and stuff when you have a garage. It's great stuff. Smile

- Gimp, don't waste money on a car first off unless you really want it. Cars that are 90,000 or less on the web can be stored in your garage if you steal them off the street.

You can tune up cars to make them faster, armor them up and put insurance on them so you never lose them and if another player blows it up, they pay the insurance fee so no cost to you! You can purchase the use of tank for 1.5 mil, but you can't store it in your garage. You have to have it delivered every time.

(I see you are quite the Megaman aficionado!)

As an aside, I know most of the Megaman games inside-out (quite literally). A few years back I was one of the main programmers for the Megaman anniversary collection. This involved a whole lot of taking the original NES Z80 assembly code and writing emulation routines to make the ancient code run on XBOX/PS2/GameCube, plus a heap of code to emulate the NES & SNES sprite hardware. Fun times! Very Happy

(Even though that work caused me to hear the music from those games non-stop-9-to-5-for-two-years-solid I never tired of those catchy ditties!).

ALSO: Check out Shovel-Knight on GOG/Steam. It's a recent game in the style of Megaman/Metroid-vania/Duck-tails, and it's really fucking good. ;)

ALSO 2: A couple of nights ago I stumbled upon a YouTube Retro-Gaming channel you would probably enjoy. The thing I really appreciate about these guys is that they go to the effort of making most of their vids 30mins long to cover the topics with some depth:

-Spotato- Very nice very nice. I resent the being an idiot for a Gamecube part. I still have mine with Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes. Worth it. Still got my Dreamcast too. We should play some 4x4 Evolution or some Un-offical Phantasy Star Online. Supposedly some Dreamcast games are still online. I need to crank that beast up and see if she still works. Been collecting dust for years now. She'll be 16 years old Sept. 9th, man they grow up so fast.

Yeah Nick, I'm a fan of most Capcom things.

I had a friend go to Japan and I asked for some Megaman stuff. He got me the E Tank. It has every game soundtrack in it in FLAC plus remixes from Capcom. It's fucking tits man. There was an arm cannon pillow that you slide your arm into. He couldn't get it to fit in his luggage.

He went to Super Potato while he was there. I can't explain how jealous I am.

The only title I don't have is Megaman 1. I've spent about 250$ on the other five with the fifth game being the most expensive at 90$ used from Amazon. I've played all the X series too up to X6. Played Megaman Legends 1 + 2. Played Megaman Zero 1-4. Never tried the Battle Network series. I'll have to get into it I think. Need to try Megaman ZX on DS as well.

Favorites are MM2, MM4, X4, X5, Legends 2, Zero 2 + 3.

I've checked out Shovel Knight in the past. I'll spring on it eventually after I beat some of the others I've got. Really into Nuclear Throne and Isaac: Rebirth. I wanna grab Darkwing Duck on NES too. Capcom hasn't let me down yet.

MM2 is probably my fave of them all.

Capcom have made some truly awesome games. I'd love for them to continue the Ghosts'n'Goblins/Ghouls'n'Ghosts series!
Or make a new Black-Tiger!!1! (I spent so many pennies on that down the arcades when I was a kid.) I'm getting all nostalgic and sentimental just thinking about it. ;)

Sorry about my second no-show on GTA-Online. My net connection is working fine, but I tried all night and couldn't bloody connect to RS-SocialClub for more than 15 seconds before it bounced me back to Offline-story-mode, over and over and over. :'(
I'm gunna flash an updated firmware onto my router tomorrow and see if that helps.
