Call of Duty is going back to World War II. I'm excited to see it, but I think CoD has strayed far from what it used to be and think it's probably going to be stale. Hopefully not tho, the 26th will reveal all.

Oh man I'm excited too. I miss the old playstyle that was less reliant on killstreaks that could end the game with the push of a button. I'm a little worried that they'll try to throw in "prototypes" like jetpacks or heat-seeking missiles.

I really hope they don't mess this up. Would be nice if they went back to having some big maps and bringing back a base assault game mode or something. I miss those big map battles from UO and since Battlefield shows it can be done on a big scale, maybe they'll go a little further back. 95% sure they won't, but I can always dream.

Trailer and Livestream is up for those curious (Watching atm) Word of warning. When the interview starts, it sounds like someone has a nose whistle lol.

Not much was really given, seems they are waiting for E3, but here's the main points I got from it.
But, on a + ♪, the official trailer on YT has 177k likes to 10k, they've improved on that so far lol

► Trailer + Livestream - (Link starts at the trailer)

► Quick Points:(In case you don't have time to watch the hour long video)
    • In dev for 2 1/2 years
    • All sounds are authentic
    • Lots of historic research (Aiming to be as historically accurate as possible)

    • Boots on the ground (Back to how it used to be) Let's hope lol
    • 1944 - 1945 European Theater focus
    • WWII - (We can pretty much guess what's in store)
Multiplayer  (Will be playable at E3)
     • War - Allies vs. Axis capturing critical objectives. (Sounds like Conquest in BF or old school BAS in UO)
     • Divisions - Enlist in a specific unit of choice. (Maybe something like BF does or Heroes & Generals?)
     • Headquarters - Living space to hang with other players outside of matches. (
     • Zombies (Co-op)- Entirely new story where the Third Reich is creating a whole different army ( <-Screenshot
► Sidepoint - Playstation gets the beta first. Hopefully there isn't favoritism for consoles

► Thoughts: I'm excited. I don't think it's going to be what I want it to be, but one can hope. Guess we'll find out at E3 in June.

Ehhh, it's being made by Sledgehammer.  I'm optimistic but I have my doubts.  If it were Treyarch, I'd be all over it.

Since they have three different studios working on the game (on a 3 year cycle), I don't understand why each studio isn't just assigned a set time period.  They've beat the dead horse of future style games and now that Battlefield has gone back, they finally went back too.   Why couldn't Sledgehammer work on future style games, Infinity Ward on modern style games, and Treyarch on past (world war 1 - vietnam) style games?  Makes sense to me.

Agreed, I'm very skeptical of Sledgehammer, but I remain optimistic. I think E3 will be my deciding point. I haven't bought into this franchise since MW2, so while excitedly optimistic, I do expect them to screw it up tbh.

I want to be excited about it, and it sure does look purty (so far, although I'm sure the final product will as well). I'm heavy-laden with skepticism, but maybe they'll win me back after all these years. If they keep it as pure an experience as CoD 2, I'll probably be on board no matter what. If they drown it in all the perks and killstreaks and blah blah blah of the recent games, I don't know that any amount of fantastic gameplay will win me over. -> General Discussion & Off Topic
