you can still get infected from a disc thats inserted in your PC, having a free one is better than nothing at all.sometimes the ads on websites carry trojans that go behind the scenes. using Firefox or chrome with Adblocking add on is a good thing, because it blocks all the shit that tries to get in. IE sucks for web browsing, with each release it gets worse, those viruses are programmed to get by IE, and always do. Very Insecure

I recently discovered that as many of these free antivirus programs scan for malware, they are also scanning your pc for any information they deem sellable.
Better read and understand the fine print in the EULA's.

Avast 100% Free and better then all but NOD32 which if you want to buy I then suggest NOD32.

anyone using Avira (its crap anyhow) should read this.

oh and the free version tends to bring up an add wanting you to buy it, when it updates the virus defs, and if your in a full screen 3d game, it will kick you right out of it. POS Smile.
